Keeping Up with Environmental Regulations

The first day focused heavily on Philippine environmental regulations and policy developments that directly affect businesses and environmental practitioners.

Topics included the Philippine Environmental Impact Statement System under PD 1586, Clean Water Act or RA 9275, Clean Air Act or RA 8749, Ecological Solid Waste Management Act or RA 9003, and the Extended Producer Responsibility Act or RA 11898.

Discussions also covered Pollution Control Officer accreditation, proposed DENR fees, climate-related policies, and hazardous waste management under RA 6969.

For organizations operating in industries where environmental requirements continue to develop, understanding regulatory changes is an important part of maintaining responsible and compliant operations.

Looking Beyond Compliance

The second day expanded the conversation beyond regulation and examined some of the broader challenges organizations are facing.

Discussions covered climate resilience, extreme weather events, political and economic uncertainties, energy and resource management, industry compliance challenges, and sustainability strategies.

Speakers from DENR-EMB, PAGASA, industry organizations, and the sustainability sector also shared industry practices and discussed the skills needed to strengthen environmental, health, and safety management.

These conversations reinforce an important point: environmental responsibility is no longer limited to meeting regulatory requirements.

Organizations increasingly need to consider how they manage resources, prepare for changing environmental conditions, strengthen internal capabilities, and integrate sustainability into everyday operations.

Continuous Learning Supports Better Environmental Management

For Envirocycle, participating in events such as the 8th PCAPI event provides our environmental team with opportunities to remain informed about developments affecting the industries and clients we support.

Keeping our Environmental Manager and Pollution Control Officers connected to regulatory updates, emerging challenges, and industry practices helps strengthen the knowledge behind our environmental and waste-management services.

As regulations, climate risks, and sustainability expectations continue to evolve, continuous learning remains an important part of responsible environmental management.

Envirocycle Philippines remains committed to supporting organizations through responsible waste management, resource recovery, environmental compliance, and sustainable business practices.
